Making paintings is always a challenge because I never know what to do. I may take an old painting that for some reason does not work anymore and figure out where it wants to go next and keep going until I come to a stop sign. Lately I have been working small, starting new paintings instead of painting over old ones. The painting goes pretty much where it wants... I'm just there for the ride. Ninety percent of the work is getting my body over to where the paints and brushes are waiting...
My latest work tend to be abstract. I've gone back and forth between the figurative and abstract over the years.
